Terms of Service
Effective 2026-10-05
1. The service
Zomma Golf is a sole proprietorship and is the party you are agreeing with here. It is a golf research database: equipment specifications, course records, scorecards and maps, mechanical rankings computed from published figures, and planning tools built on top of them. Everything readable works without an account. Some features — a saved bag, tracked rounds, saved strategy plans, My Game — require an account and store data you create. We may change, rename or discontinue features over time; what you agreed to is the feature, not the label on it.
2. Your account and your data
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure. Provide accurate information. What you enter — your profile, your statistics, your bag, your rounds, your plans and your saved courses — stays yours. By entering it you permit Zomma to use it to run and improve the service, to tailor what the site shows you (including which gear content and advertising is relevant to you), and to produce aggregate, de-identified statistics that identify no one and which we may quote for advertising and affiliate purposes. We do not sell or share the personal information in your account; the Privacy Policy sets out exactly how this works, including that tracked-round location is never used for advertising. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings; deletion is permanent.
3. The newsletter
The newsletter is optional and off unless you ask for it. There is an unticked box on the sign-up form, and you can turn it on or off later in your account settings — creating an account does not subscribe you, and these terms are not how you agree to receive it. You can unsubscribe at any time from your account settings or the link in any issue, and unsubscribing does not affect your account or anything saved to it. There is no separate subscriber list: the subscription is a setting on your account. If you do subscribe we send roughly one issue a week. Service email (verification, password resets) is not the newsletter and is sent regardless, because it is how the account works. We do not sell or share the list.
4. Advertising
This site may carry advertising. Two commitments about it, and they are why this section exists rather than being left unsaid. Placement: an ad is never put above, before, or inside the answer — the first thing on a page is always the thing you came for. Independence: advertising never influences a specification, a ranking or a finding. Specs are recorded as the manufacturer published them, and a result an advertiser dislikes is published exactly as computed. Relevance: the ads and affiliate links you see may be chosen from what is already on your account — the clubs you carry, your profile — so a Titleist owner sees Titleist rather than a brand they do not play; that is us using your own data on your own screen, not handing it to an advertiser. Separately, we may quote aggregate, de-identified figures about our users — for instance how many players carry a given brand — for advertising and affiliate purposes; those figures describe the group and identify no one. Where ads set cookies you can refuse them on our cookies page without losing access to anything.
5. The data & accuracy
Equipment specifications are compiled from manufacturer sources; course records — scorecards, ratings, maps — from the courses' own publications and open geographic data. All of it is provided for reference. We aim for accuracy and show “not published” rather than guess, but we do not warrant that every value is complete, current or error-free, and a course map can lag what is on the ground. Verify anything critical — a length or loft before ordering a build, a yardage or a rate before booking a round — against the manufacturer or the course.
6. Strategy plans
A strategy plan is a calculation, not advice. It is arithmetic over published strokes-gained research and the course geometry we have traced, using the handicap and distances you entered — so it is only ever as good as those inputs, and a plan is a suggestion you are free to ignore. Three limits worth stating plainly. The map is incomplete: trees, out-of-bounds stakes, internal boundaries and waste areas are not traced anywhere in our data, so a line the plan calls clear can be blocked in front of you, and a shot that leaves the mapped course is priced as a recovery rather than as a penalty. We never read a green: no break, no aim offset, no putting line — the most a plan says about a putt is how many strokes one of that length usually takes. The shot is yours: you are responsible for your own club selection, for playing safely, for the group ahead of you, and for the Rules of Golf and any local rules in force.
7. Contributions
Record pages carry a form for telling us a figure is wrong or missing, and the support form accepts the same. Send only what you have the right to send — a figure you read from a published source, or your own words — and tell us where it is published. A submission is a claim, not an edit: we check it against its source by hand, nothing you send is published automatically, and we may use, edit or discard it without obligation or payment. By submitting you grant Zomma a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use the submission to correct and extend the database. Submissions are kept as the record of where a correction came from, and they outlive an account — if you delete yours, the report stays but every link to you is removed, as the Privacy Policy describes.
8. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the service: no attempts to break, overload or circumvent it, and no unlawful use. Reading pages, comparing records and quoting a figure with a link back is what the site is for. What is not permitted without our written consent: bulk or systematic extraction of the database — scraping, crawling or harvesting records at scale — or republishing substantial portions of it. Reading a published page to answer a question, to cite it, or to train a machine-learning or AI model is permitted, in the same way it is for a person. Our robots.txt states the same policy to automated agents: search-engine crawlers, AI assistants and model-training crawlers are welcome by name; bulk-resale data brokers are refused.
9. Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided “as is,” without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
10. Contact
